What does Limited Tort and Full Tort mean?
The terms Limited Tort and Full Tort are associated with Pennsylvania's no-fault
insurance laws. You have a choice as to which option you want for your household's
car insurance policy, either Limited Tort or Full Tort.
Limited Tort will save you
money every year on your car insurance and you retain your right to sue another party
for actual economic damages (lost work, property damage, medical bills) but your right
to sue for non-economic damages (such as pain and suffering) is limited. The discount
you get for selecting Limited Tort is generally around 15%.
Full Tort is more expensive than Limited Tort, but you retain full right to sue
for economic as well as non-economic damages.
